The approved course at South Warwickshire Flying School is laid out in accordance with the EASA syllabus. The course is intended to train an applicant to fly any simple single-engine aeroplane with a maximum all up weight of 2000 kgs. The licence allows the holder to fly within European airspace and they may only carry up to a maximum of 3 passengers and only after 10 hours logged as Pilot-in-Command following the issue of the licence.
The flight instruction is a minimum of thirty (30) hours of flight training, of which a minimum of twenty four (24) hours shall be dual flight instruction. In addition the applicant will have completed a minimum of six (6) hours solo flying, including 3 hours of cross-country flying. The Skill Test are additional to the course training requirements.
An applicant will possess a LAPL Medical issued by an Authorised Medical Examiner (AME).
At the hourly flying rate of £157, the thirty hours of flying training will cost £4710. All other fees for equipment and examinations is as published in the charges section of these web pages.
