Advanced maintenance training is a follow-up course for category B1/B2 Embraer 170 and 190 maintenance technicians. The course meets all the requirements of EASA Part 147. It can also be flexibly aligned to the specific individual needs of the trainees concerned.

Objectives
After completing the course (Phase 1, Avionics), the trainee should:
be familiar with the aircraft manuals required to perform troubleshooting activities
be able to describe the CMC system and identify and explain its components
have an understanding of possible problems relating to the electrical system and the secondary power distribution assembly (SPDA)
have an understanding of possible problems relating to the autopilot system and be able to describe the corresponding system tests
be able to describe in detail the avionics and aircraft standard communication bus (ASCB) systems
be able to explain the different avionic ASCB and LAN system troubleshooting options
be able to explain the options available for testing avionics and electrical systems
be able to explain the various troubleshooting approaches that can be used on the Embraer 170 and 190
be able to perform a system target load and a full load using the aircraft maintenance system
be able to identify and explain the latest load versions for the aircraft’s systems
be able to perform a fault history database (FHDB) download and conduct a subsequent analysis.
The above requires a knowledge and understanding of the Maintenance Manual, the Fault Isolation Manual, the Systems Schematics Manual, the Wiring Manual and the Illustrated Parts Catalogue, as well as the requisite tooling and equipment.
Target group
The course is intended for category B1/B2 maintenance technicians.
Requirements
Trainees will need to have at least six months’ experience to bring the knowledge and skills levels which the course requires.
Examinations and approvals
An end-of-course examination is not mandatory, but can be provided at the customer’s request.
Duration
The course normally lasts two days, but its length can be adjusted to meet customer needs.
