With its long track record in the satellite telecommunication and television sectors and thanks to a portfolio of cutting-edge products and services, Telespazio offers its clients secure, reliable and globally available solutions.
The company manages communications networks capable of integrating satellite and ground-based infrastructure, responding effectively to the requirements of business and institutional markets, media and broadcast sectors and global telecommunications operators.
Telespazio offers dedicated services for the oil & gas, transport and navigation sectors, implementing fixed-line, mobile broadband satellite services (MSS) in Italy and abroad. It provides innovative solutions for applications and services in civil protection, security and e-government. Trunking and backhauling services for Telco operators are also included in its product portfolio, mainly for Latin America and supported by teleports managed by Telespazio in Brazil and Argentina.
In its Fucino, Scanzano and Lario Space Centres, Telespazio hosts ground segment equipment dedicated to telecommunications satellite systems managed by key satellite operators such as Inmarsat, Eutelsat, and Intelsat.
Additionally, Telespazio is the Italian leader and a major European player in radio and television broadcasting, thanks to its facilities at the Fucino and Lario Space Centres, to digital platforms operated there, and to the equipment installed and managed at clients’ premises. Telespazio also maintains a technical, operational and commercial presence in France, Spain, UK, Germany and Romania.
In tactical military satellite communications (MILSATCOM), Telespazio provides telecommunications services to the armed forces of NATO countries, through its involvement in the Italian defence programme SICRAL. In non-tactical military communications (COMSATCOM), the company offers telemedicine, distance learning and wideband connectivity services.
Telespazio plays a strategic role in the Italian programme for the SICRAL military satellite communications. For SICRAL 1, launched in 2001, the company has managed the LEOP and the phases of design, integration and testing of the ground segment. The subsequent SICRAL 1B satellite, launched in 2009, was co-financed by Telespazio. In addition to havin managed its launch and early orbit, Telespazio now has access to part of the transmission capacity.
Telespazio participates in the ATHENA-FIDUS, launched in 2014, and SICRAL 2, launched in 2015, programmes with a similar role.
