Description
The private pilot license is divided into two components, ground school and flight training. Ground school is offered on location two nights a week and is comprised of 18 lessons. It is designed to work in conjunction with the flight training and prepare you to write your written exam. The flight training is based upon a minimum 45 hours worth of training. Most of our students are finishing their licenses between 45-55 hours. We are open 7 days a week and you can fly anytime during daylight hours.
Prerequisite
Must be 17 years of age to be licenced, however training can begin as early as 14

Course Requirements

45 Hours minimum training including
17 hours dual instruction including:
3 hours cross country
5 hours instrument
12 hours solo including:
5 hours cross country
40 hours ground school
Passing grade on a Transport Canada written exam and flight test
Length of Course
The private pilot course can take anywher between 3-6 months to complete depending on the availability of the student.
Privileges and Limitations
The holder of a Private Pilot License may operate any Canadian registered single engine non-high performance aircraft anywher in the world
Flight may only be conducted during daylight hours and visual flight rules (VFR) conditions unless license is endorsed with a night rating and instrument rating
A Private Pilot License will enable you to carry passengers for leisure but not for hire
