Meggitt’s pumps include positive displacement gear and vane types, and centrifugal flow. Typically, they are used to lubricate and scavenge engines, produce hydraulic power and charge hydraulic systems. We employ a variety of bearing configurations from fluid film to ball bearing. Pump drives can be engine or integral AC or DC electric motor–driven.
Many of the pumps with integral motors are designed as a “wet motor” configuration wher the working fluid circulates through the motor cavity. This eliminates the need for dynamic shaft seals and enhances reliability. Meggitt has also developed a “canning” process for integral wet pump motors, enabling the pump to operate with low dielectric fluids.
We can design pumps for virtually any ground vehicle application.
Key benefits:
Unique motor-canning
Lightweight
No shaft seals or ball bearings
