  • BEYOND THE PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE

It’s been said that a good pilot never stops learning, and one of the bext ways to continue learning is training towards more advanced ratings.

The first step beyond the private certificate for most pilots is the complex and high performance endorsements, that allows you to fly faster and more complicated aircraft.

An instrument rating can then be added to your private pilot certificate, that enables you to fly in clouds and bad weather by referencing the flight instruments.

Beyond that is the commercial pilot certificate if you want to fly for hire, and the certificated flight instructor, that allows you to teach other people to fly.

At the highest level is the airline transport pilot certificate. It’s required for airline, corporate, and charter pilots. Whether you are pursuing flying for a living – we have trained many pilots who have gone on to successful airline and part 135 charter careers – or you are just looking to be a more accomplished aviator, please feel free to sit down with us to discuss your flight training needs.

    COMPLEX

Train with us in our Piper Arrow and quickly add a complex airplane endorsement to your certificate. As you may already know, a complex aircraft is defined as havin a controllable-pitch propeller, retractable landing gear, and flaps. The Piper Arrow meets these requirements and is an ideal training platform. We can have you endorsed on complex aircraft operation in as little as 5 hours of dual instruction, and our Arrow has very reasonable insurance minimums.

    INSTRUMENT RATING

More than half of certificated pilots end up training for an instrument rating. The primary reason is utility – no longer will you have to automatically cancel a flight due to non-VFR conditions. Instrument flying is highly challenging to learn, and immensely rewarding when you can make it all come together. Ready to get started? Please get in touch with us, we’ll make a time to sit down with you and go over your logbook and outline the steps required to get instrument rated.

    BFR & IPC

We take BFR’s and IPC’s seriously, and like to go beyond the FAA minimums to ensure you are safe, competent and confident in your abilities.  The completion of a checkride with an FAA Inspector or FAA Designated Pilot Examiner for a new certificate or rating also counts as a flight review. Has your instrument currency lapsed? We make IPC’s informative and fun. Call us to learn more about your options for BFR’s and IPC’s.

    COMMERCIAL

The commercial rating is required for you to fly for hire, and is a critical step on the road to a career in the air. Our Piper Arrow is ideal for the commercial rating. It’s fast, flies beautifully, and has excellent visibility for the maneuvers required for the rating. Many students take advantage of the longer cross country trips required for this rating by flying somewher scenic and fun. The Grand Canyon, Tucson, and San Francisco are just a few options.

    CFI & CFI-I

If you love to fly and you would like to get paid to teach others to fly, you should consider becoming a certificated flight instructor. If you’re set on an airline career, becoming a CFI is a very cost effective way to build the 1,500 hours of flight time that you’ll need to be considered for a commuter airline job. We look forward to working hard alongside you on your CFI and optional CFI-I ratings. They are not easy to gain but they are among the most rewarding to achieve.

    AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT

Airline Transport Pilots are responsible for operating large transport aircraft with advanced systems. The ATP is the capstone rating for a career pilot. We have trained many pilots for the ATP rating, many of whom are now flying for regional and major airlines around the world. Most pilots seeking an ATP are bound for the airlines, but for some the challenge of the rating itself is enough to warrant its pursuit. Call us or stop by to discuss your ATP training options.
