With a private pilot’s license, you can carry passengers day or night, but not in the clouds or for hire.
• At least 17 years old to earn a license
• Receive flight training and endorsement from an authorized flight instructor
• Pass an FAA 3rd Class physical examination (basic physical)
• Minimum of 40 hours of flight time consisting of dual instruction and solo flight. Average for most individuals is 65-80 flight hours.
• Pass the FAA Private Pilot knowledge written exam and take a practical test consisting of an oral exam and a flying test
