Sierra Academy recognizes the need for well qualified pilots that must possess the total flight time minimums with the knowledge and structure that only Sierra Academy can offer.
Sierra Academy is offering the Instructor career pilot program to qualified pilots with the drive and motivation necessary to be successful within the aviation industry. Pilots who hold a Commercial License, Single and Multi Engine Land with Instrument privileges are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity. Sierra Academy is offering the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFII) and Multi Engine Instructor (MEI) ratings to a selec group of qualified individuals in exchange for a One year OR 1,000 hours of dual given commitment as a paid Instructor Pilot with Sierra Academy. Qualified applicants have the ability to earn their full flight instructor ratings courtesy at Sierra Academy. Interested applicants may place a deposit of 1,500.00 dollars. This deposit is returned once the instructor has completed their commitment. As an added bonus we understand that housing can be a large financial burden to the developing commercial pilot. For applicants interested in this instructor program you will receive FREE housing in our dormitory facility. This housing is single occupancy. After the instructor student has completed all three of their instructor ratings they will begin standardization class to move onto the line as a line flying instructor.
Certified flight instructor course timeline:
5 week CFI initial course
5 Week Instrument flight instructor course
5 week Multi engine flight instructor course.
Our program will take 15 weeks encompassing all three CFI ratings. During this time you will complete the two FAA written exams needed in the course FOI and FIA. Instructor students will be required to work with our students in ground school as either tutors or teachers assistants. This will help develop the instructor teaching foundation that every CFI needs.
What do I need to apply?
Current First class medical
Private pilot certificate through commercial single and multi-engine land rated.
Successful completion of the sierra academy interview process.
As a paid instructor you now will receive:
Paid up to 23.00 per hour
FREE meals in our cafeteria
Continued housing occupancy at only 50.00 per month

But what If I do not have all the ratings to apply?
If you currently do not hold the minimum certificate requirements of the private through commercial multi engine, than we encourage you to call and speak with one of our career pilot recruiters. We understand that every pilot has a different story and a different back ground and Sierra Academy can develop a customized training program based around the ratings you currently hold. This will still allow you to be a part of one of the fastest growing flight schools in the country.
