The FR SWAN X1 Autopilot has been designed and elaborated to be perfectly adapted to the Soft Wing aircraft which allows a better performance, a stable flight, an accuracy of operation, while maintening a high level of security.
Stability is the Autopilot's priority;
The measures of flight are monitored in real time;
The correlation between the sensors allows the SWAN X1 to continue its mission despite the loss of a GPS signal;
The Autopilot incorporates a smart technology of waypoint: this characteristic allows to set an altitude on a given waypoint for a specific task (for example cargo dropping, or time limit-altitude-circle above a point);
Real time of the flight telemetric data and recording of the whole flight data are recovered (as for a flight recorder).
The Autopilot system is built upon an ARM Linux architecture.
Sensors transmit information to the Autopilot include, among others, GPS, data readers (engine data, fuel consumption - fuel flow, batteries power), Laser rangefinder, barometric altimeter, Pitot tub connected to the Air Data System, INS-GPS and AHRS units from MEMS type (GPS, linear accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers).
