What is an Aircraft Carburetor?
The carburetor is used to mix air and fuel in the proper ratio for combustion in the airplane’s engine. The fuel level in the carburetor bowl is regulated by the action of a float controlled valve. The throttle valve controls the flow air through the carburetor throat. The air then passes through a venture and the resulting dro in pressure draws fuel through a metering jet in the correct ratio to the volume of air.
Aircraft carburetors also have a mixture control to adjust the air/fuel ratio to allow for the change in air density at different altitudes.
We overhaul, exchange, repair, and bench check aircraft carburetors. We also carry New and Factory Re-Man units. An 8130-3 airworthiness certificate is available upon request.
