On Monday, United States transport officials announced that airlines in Indonesia have been cleared to fly to America again for the first time since 2007.
According to Agence France-Presse, airline safety regulators reported Indonesia's aviation sector met international standards, and the country’s safety rating had been upgraded. The announcement comes almost 10 years after the Federal Aviation Administration banned flights from Indonesia due to a downgraded safety rating.
The European unio also imposed restrictions in 2007, but those have already been lifted.
