Toronto-based VIP and corporate helicopter operator Fig Air Inc. has just signed for a Sikorsky S-76D, according to a company news release. This transaction will result in the first S-76D delivery to a Canadian helicopter operator.

The S-76D allows the customer to customize the interior and seats up to eight passengers. Most notably, the aircraft can hold its rotor system still while running an engine to power the air-conditioning system. This allows the cabin to cool in hot environments before passengers board.

In nearly 30 yr, Sikorsky has delivered more than 850 S-76s around the world. Operating in more than 40 countries, it contributes to almost 7 million flight hr daily.
