A Jiangsu-bound TransAsia flight in Taiwan was delayed for more than an hour on Friday morning after its emergency slide was accidentally activated, according to Taiwan's media reports.
The slide used for emergency evacuation shot out from a cabin door at the back of the Airbus A320, which was parked at the Taoyuan International Airport, United Daily reported.
Ground crew were surprised when they heard the loud noise caused by the inflating slide. The crew had been preparing the plane for boarding.
No one was injured in the incident, and technicians fixed the plane shortly after.
The GE318 flight had been scheduled to take off for Xuzhou, eastern China's Jiangsu province, at 8:50am with 77 passengers on board. But it was delayed for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Authorities are investigating what triggered the slide's inflation system, the report said.
