Airports resume normal activity following Hurricane Matthew

Tips:MIAMI (WSVN) - With Hurricane Matthew passing South Florida, airlines are beginning to get back in the air.

South Florida’s largest carrier, American Airlines, said arrivals at Miami International Airport resumed at 10 a.m., Friday. Departures will begin at 1 p.m.

Although, according to MIA officials, flights have resumed at a limited capacity. “There are 144 arrivals and 161 departures cancelled today,” said an official. “Passengers should still contact their airline to confirm their flight status before coming to the airport.”

Operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport resumed at noon, Friday. The same applies for Palm Beach International Airport.
