A total of 52 new aircraft parking stands are planned for Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.

Shuangliu Airport has two terminal buildings, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, covering an area of 500,000 square meters (about 14,000 mu) with two parallel runways. There are 74 boarding gates, 104 remote parking stands, 64 security channels, and 207 check-in counters. Complete and advanced facilities and services are available in both terminals, including International and domestic transfer, VIP lounge, banks, dining, shopping, recreation and other dedicated services.

Besides, construction work started on Chengdu's new international airport in May 2016.

Located near the town of Lujia, 50km from downtown Chengdu, the new Tianfu International Airport will include a 600,000m² terminal and more than 200 aircraft parking stands.

The first phase of the project is expected to take four years to complete. A second phase, to be completed by 2025, will increase the new airport's capacity to 40 million passengers and 320,000 aircraft movements per year.
