Beechcraft is preparing to deliver the first Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion-equipped King Air twin-engined turboprops into Brazil, after securing local validation on 10 October for the upgraded aircraft.

The flightdeck – which replaces the Pro Line 21 avionics system – includes three interchangeable 14in (35cm) displays with integrated touchscreen checklists, a high-resolution synthetic vision system and multi-sensor flight management system.

The Fusion-equipped 350i, 250 and C90GTx are already certificated in the USA and Europe. By the end of June 32, 14 and four units, respectively, had been delivered, Beechcraft says.

Lannie O’Bannion, the airframer’s vice-president, sales for Latin America and the Caribbean, says King Airs have “long been leaders in Brazil and throughout Latin America for their mission versatility and reliability in operating with heavy payloads out of short, unimproved runways.”

Flight Fleets Analyzer records an inventory of more than 400 King Airs in the country, the second largest installed base for the type after the USA.

The new Fusion-equipped King Airs also feature an enhanced cabin environment, with wi-fi capability and electronically dimmable window shades.
