Chinese air ambulance operator HEMS999 Co. Ltd. has leased two new Airbus Helicopters H130s from Ireland's Milestone Aviation Group Ltd., the company said. This lease agreement stems from a previous agreement between HEMS999 parent, the MIT Group, and Airbus for seven H130s.
The newly leased H130s are set to be operational within the next few months. Due to a rise in the amount of motor vehicles and highway expansion in Shandong, helicopters are needed for emergency medical services and rescues, according to MIT.
At the end of August, Airbus' H130 fleet reached 30 million flight hours. The lightweight, single-engine rotorcraft has multi-role capabilities, including transportation, tourism, law enforcement, surveillance and EMS.
