For members of Women in Aviation International (WAI), $662,625 in scholarships is available for a variety of pursuits, the company said. From mechanics, engineers, dispatchers, pilots, instructors and more, anyone who becomes a member before Nov. 1 can apply. For the first time, online applications will now be accepted.
To be postmarked no later than Nov. 14, the scholarships are not just for academics. Funds can be put toward any aviation area. With 113 scholarships available, some with multiple winners, WAI hopes to give awards to a variety of sectors in the entire field of aviation.
Sponsors, including Airbus, Boeing and Helicopter Assn. International (HAI), have given more than $10 million in WAI scholarships over the past 20 years. Scholarship winners will be announced in March 2017 during WAI’s 28th annual International Women in Aviation Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
