Now that the restrictions on visits to Cuba have eased, you may want to take your airplane to experience this beautiful Caribbean country. A new company called Cuba Handling can help make sure you stay on the legal side of this new adventure.

Cuba Handling is an offshoot of a company called Cultural Contrast, which has been handling trips to Cuba for 26 years. Services include help with regulatory compliance, such as overflight permits, landing permits, visas and customs, and creature comforts, such as lodging, ground transportation and more. You can choose to fly either to remote airports or major airports, and the services are all-inclusive, so you won’t have to worry about bringing a wad of cash for landing fees, customs and so on.

“Flying an N-registered aircraft to Cuba has always been difficult, with regulations from Treasury, Commerce, the FAA, CBP and others,” said Eric Norber, founder of Cuba Handling. “Recent changes now make it possible and legal for Part 91 and 135 flights to go to Cuba; however, the reality is Cuba is a complicated bureaucracy. While your aircraft may now be able [to] fly to Cuba, the passengers and crew are subject to specific requirements.”
