The Indian government plans to disinvest in Pawan Hans, local news outlets have reported. According to reports, the Dept. of Investment and Public Asset Management said this week that it is set to sell its entire 51% stake, thereby transferring management control.
The government wants to use a strategic disinvestment process. It is currently seeking consulting firms and banks to help facilitate and manage the move.
Pawan Hans offers helicopter services such as charter, commercial, passenger, and maintenance, repair and overhaul. According to its website, it operates a fleet of 43, comprising 17 Airbus Helicopters Dauphin SA-365Ns, 15 Airbus Dauphin AS365N3s, three Bell Helicopter 206 L4s, three Bell 407s, three Russian Helicopters MI-172s and two Airbus AS350s.
