A helicopter crashed in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of a pilot, local authorities /confirm/ied.

The accident happened at around 3:40 p.m., when the helicopter being forest pest control operations near Lezhi County, killing one pilot, an official from the city's publicity bureau said. No other casualties were reported.

Witness said the helicopter may have hit a power line before it crashed.

Further details were not immediately available, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
