During Helicopter Assn. International’s (HAI) Heli-Expo in March, MD Helicopters Inc. debuted its MD 6XX concept helicopter with an EMS/air medical interior from Air Ambulance Technology. But during Airborne Law Enforcement Assn.’s (ALEA) Expo last week, MD Helicopters displayed the concept aircraft in a law enforcement configuration.
The law enforcement configuration included some technologies seen at Heli-Expo. It also included law enforcement-specific equipment, including:
FLIR Systems Star Safire 380-HDc single line-replaceable unit electro-optical/infrared (LRU EO/IR) imaging system
Spectrolab Nightsun XP searchlight
Robertson Fuel Systems Little Bird Auxiliary Tank System (LBATS)
Raptor long gun mounting system
“Our company is committed to ensuring law enforcement and military tactical teams are provided versatile, durable and high quality equipment that provides both security and ease of access to their firearms when required,” said Raptor President Nathan Wasankari. “Working with MD Helicopters to integrate our proven, modular, fast-access weapon mounting system into their law enforcement options package has been a seamless process. We look forward to ongoing collaborations and opportunities to reach new markets.”
