Caverton Helicopters has won a five-year logistics and medical-evacuation support contract by Chevron Nigeria Ltd. to support its joint venture with Nigerian National Petroleum Corp., the operator said.

The contract was awarded after what Caverton said was an extended competitive tendering process and will include 11 Bell Helicopter aircraft for services that are to include guaranteed, around-the-clock medevac response for Chevron Nigeria's entire area of operations. The joint venture with Nigerian National Petroleum includes operations in shallow offshore waters and the Warri region south-central Nigeria.

Caverton Helicopters, a unit of Nigerian-owned Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc, operates Leonardo Helicopters AW139, Bell 412EP and Sikorsky S-76C++ rotorcraft as well as de Havilland DHC-6 fixed-wing aircraft.
