Caverton Helicopters has ordered eight Bell Helicopter 407GXPs to support a newly won logistics and medical-evacuation contract with Chevron Nigeria Ltd.

The Lagos, Nigeria-based subsidiary of Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc said Aug. 18 it had won the five-year contract to Chevron Nigeria Ltd.’s joint venture with Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. Bell said today the operator ordered the 407GXPs to supplements its fleet of 412EPs, Leonardo Helicopters AW139 and Sikorsky S-76C++ rotorcraft.

Delivery of the 407GXPs is to begin later this year.

“Our company offers logistics and support services to the Nigerian oil and gas companies located along the West African shelf,” said Caverton Helicopters Managing Director Josiah Choms, adding that the 407GXP’s speed and operating costs “make it the perfect light single helicopter for this job.”

The deal includes Bell Customer Advantage Plan support for the eight aircraft.

Caverton Helicopters operates out of a 107,600-square-foot flight facility at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammad International Airport as well as purpose-built facilities in Victoria Island, Port Harcourt and Warri in Nigeria and in neighboring Cameroon.
