The second China (Changchun) General Aviation Development Conference was held in Changchun, Jilin Province on Monday. The 2019-2020 Development Report on General Aviation in China, released by the General Aviation Branch of the China Air Transport Association on Wednesday, shows that China's general aviation industry is developing rapidly, with 296 airports registered as of the end of June this year.
The general aviation industry is a strategic emerging industrial system with general aviation flight activities as the core, covering the whole industrial chain of general aircraft research and development and manufacturing, market operation, comprehensive support and extended services. It has the characteristics of long industrial chain, wide service fields and strong driving force. In layman's terms, general aviation refers to the rest of civil aviation except commercial aviation.
In 2019, China had 246 airports, outnumbering transport airports for the first time, according to the report. In the first half of this year, China added another 50 registered airports.
