Tips:EU: Flying taxis are expected to start commercial use in 2024-2025

The European unio Aviation Safety Agency recently stated that the first batch of flying taxis will provide services as early as 2024.

EASA executive Patrick Ky (Patrick Ky) said: "I believe air taxis will start commercial in 2024 or 2025."

EASA quoted data from the report that by 2030, the global UAM (Urban Air Mobility) market will reach 4.2 billion euros (approximately 32.9 billion yuan), creating 90,000 jobs. Among them, 31% of the global market will come from Europe.

Kee also said that EASA has begun to certify some design applications, and it is expected that the first batch of lightweight machines will be released in 2024.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, the team supported by the German startup Volocopter and Aeroports de Paris is expected to demonstrate air taxi technology.

Gee said that the speed at which similar tools will provide services depends on the operation approval process. The relevant agencies must assess whether taxis are allowed to fly over the city center, whether they will threaten the railway, and other factors.

EASA mainly focuses on two types of flying cars, one is a manned vehicle, and the other is an unmanned cargo vehicle. Kee believes that humans are still a bit far away from fully unmanned flying cars.

So far, more than 6 companies have announced the development of UAM tools, which can use unmanned driving to transport materials, such as medical products.

EASA announced a report that the public supports electric flying tools and hopes they can take off and land vertically. The report conducted a survey of six cities and found that about 71% of respondents accept air taxis or cargo services, or both; 41% of respondents believe that air flying tools can benefit emergency medical activities a lot.

But the people’s biggest worry is safety and noise. Some people worry that new tools will affect birds or insects. Network security is also a major threat.
