China’s first around-the-world flight departs Faku

Tips:Faku, a county of Shenyang, Liaoning province, welcomed the landing of China’s first around-the-world flight on August 7, Shenyang News reported.

The flight, by a single-engine turboprop TBM-700 aircraft,departed Beijing on Aug7, and landed in Faku later the same day. It left China from Shenyang Xiantao Airport the next day, which marks the beginning of its world tour.


Zhangbo, captain of China’s first around-the-world flight, disembarks the aircraft carrying the national flag at Shenyang, Liaoning province.

The five-member flight team consisted of a pilot, an engineer, a technician, a translator and a correspondent. All will spend their 58-day journey together, which covers 40,000 kilometers and about 19 countries including Russia, the United States, Canada, Iceland and Britain.
According to the pilot, Zhangbo, who got his pilot’s license in just 58 days,there will be around 50 stops on the route. At one point the route will follow part of the ancient Silk Road trade route when entering Turkey.
