Ocean Aviation is very proud of our aircraft repairs and maintenance facility at the Ocean City Municipal Airport. We can provide scheduled maintenance requirements, upgrades and repairs for most single and multi-engine aircraft. Quality is the only standard we accept.
Our service staff is on call after hours and on weekends to meet the needs of transient pilots visiting our beautiful resort community.
Our director of maintenance, Mr. Socrates Pikounis is not only an airframe and powerplant mechanic with inspection authorization (IA) but he is also a pilot. Socrates has over 20 years of experience. He previously worked at Aeroflight at the Montgomery County Airport in Gaithersburg, MD. Socrates helped maintain a fleet of thirty 30 aircraft used for flight training and rentals. The aircraft included Cessna, Piper and Beechcraft. His duties included oil changes, 50 hr. inspections, 100 hr. inspections, airframe & power plant repairs, R&R engines, R&R instruments, compliances with AD’s and service bulletins as well as ramp operations including aircraft fueling, jump starting (APU) and preheating. Prior to that, Socrates also worked at Montgomery Aviation and at Congressional Air.
In 2007, Soc moved to Texas and worked at Riteway Aviation, a FAA certified repair station at David Wayne’s Hook Airport in Spring, Texas. In 2008, we brought Soc back to the eastern shore to join Ocean Aviation as our director of maintenance. He is responsible for maintaining our fleet of Cessna and Piper Aircraft and provides maintenance and inspections for aircraft based here at Ocean City as well as all transient aircraft.
Socrates is originally from Baltimore and now resides in Ocean City with his wife Brenda and his four children.
