  • If you are a new student to IFR training we offer knowledge, experience and practice to complete your instrument rating. By knowing the basic principles and being well grounded in the "nuts and bolts" of flying  IFR, you will gain the confidence and proficiency to fly by instruments.

If you want to sharpen your skills, we are able to offer the practice you need in our aircraft, your aircraft, or by use of our FAA certified Elite Simulator with Garmin GNS 430 GPS module.

Under Part 61.65, you must satisfy the following requirements:

The student must hold at least a current private pilot certificate with an airplane appropriate to the instrument rating sought.

Receive and log ground training from an authorized instructor or a home study course of training on the aeronautical training.

Receive a log book or training endorsement from an authorized instructor certifying that the person is prepared to take the required knowledge test.

Receive and log training in the areas of operations from an authorized instructor in an aircraft, flight training device or simulator.

Receive a log book or training record endorsement from an authorized instructor certifying that the person is prepared to take the required practical test.

    Aeronautcal Experience

50 Hours of cross-country flight time as pilot in command, of which 10 hours must be in an airplane

40 Hours in actual or simulated instrument time of which 15 hours must have been received from an authorized instructor who holds an instrument-airplane rating and the instrument time includes:

Three hours of instrument flight training from an authorized instructor in an airplaner  that is appropriate to the instrument-airplane rating within two calendar months before  the date of the practical test.

Planning a 250nm cross-country trip under IFR, filing the trip and using airways or direct  routing from air traffic control facility, approached at each airport and three different  kind of approaches.

At JustFly! we offer an FAA certified ELITE Simulator with Garmin GNS 430 GPS module.
