Stellite Wrought materials incorporate properties which are improved by changes in grain structure during plastic deformation and subsequent heat treatment. The result is a material with higher strength vs. cast material of the same chemistry.
For wrought grades Stellite 6B™ and Stellite 6K™, the wrought/hot forging method of production leads to material improvements in:
Mechanical Properties
Toughness
Wear Resistance
Corrosion Resistance
Stellite 6B™
When it comes to tough, wear-resistant materials with 'guaranteed' mechanical properties, Stellite 6B is in a class by itself. Unlike materials that sacrafice toughness for wear resistance, Stellite 6B offers both. The key is the extensive hot working processing of the material which transforms a brittle, wear-resistant ingot into tough, wear-resistant Stellite 6B.
Meets Aerospace Material Specification AMS 5894 requirements.
DFARS compliant

Stellite 6K™
With similar properties to Stellite 6B, Stellite 6K is slightly harder and less ductile. This material is excellent for cutting or scraping applications, such as knives or scraper blades.
Ideal material for industrial knife and scraper applications (blades/scrapers)
Custom-rolled material that can be produced to custom guage and sheet size..
Available in flat stock ranging from 0.045" to 0.375" thick.
