China Eastern Airlines has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for permissions to launch two international services to Vancouver and Abu Dhabi, according to an announcement released Thursday on the official website of CAAC.
Subject government approval, the Shanghai-based carrier plans to launch Kunming-Nanjing-Vancouver service in this October, to replac its Shanghai Pudong-Vancouver service; while it will launch a Shanghai-Kunming-Abu Dhabi service in January 2017.
Both routes will be operated thrice weekly, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until September 8, 2016.
