TrueNorth Avionics today introduced its new Simphonē Pro cabin communications system, as well as an upgrade incentive. The Simphonē Pro is a direct replacement for legacy Simphonē systems, with no need for wiring or other changes.
Buyers can purchase Simphonē Pro in two versions: with or without dual Iridium voice and data channels. The system consists of a 4 MCU box and includes aviation-certified Wi-Fi, high-fidelity telephone with full-featured VoIP PBX, enterprise email and connectivity with mobile devices, according to TrueNorth. Its Wi-Fi capability is also upgraded, with dual-band (2.4 and 5.0 GHz), simultaneous 802.11ac and standard 801.11b/g/n. 

Under TrueNorth’s “Pro-motion” plan, buyers can upgrade to the Simphonē Pro with Iridium for $49,600 (retail price is $65,200). A similar discount is available for the non-Iridium system. TrueNorth’s bandwidth-maximizing service, connected.aero, is included in the purchase. Buyers can also sign up for TrueNorth’s Optelity Care coverage, which “offers no questions asked returns, and covers all software and hardware upgrades,” according to the company.

“Our Simphonē Pro communications system makes good on our promise to streamline equipment upgrades,” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth CEO. “All that most owners will have to do is pull out the old system and plug in the new one—no additional wiring or configuration required.”
