Five Chinese carriers have filed applications with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), seeking to operate international services to Philippine, Japan, South Korea and India.
Sichuan Airlines plans to launch two new services to Kalibo, Philippine, starting in October 2016.
Pending government approval, the Chengdu-based carrier will operate the Chengdu-Kalibo and Chongqing-Kalibo services thrice weekly, using Airbus A321/A320 aircraft, according to an announcement released Wednesday on the website of the CAAC.
China Southern Airlines has applied to launch a Sanya-Guangzhou-Diehl service in October. Subjected to government approval, the route will be operate on a daily basis, using A319/A320/A321/A330 or Boeing 737 aircraft.
Besides, Yunnan Lucky Air and China United Airlines seek permissions for launching nonstop flights to Osaka in October and December 2016, respectively.
Lucky Air's Xuzhou-Osaka and China United's Dalian-Osaka routes will be operated by 737-800 aircraft, the CAAC added.
Besides, another low-cost carrier Spring Airlines applied five services to Jeju, South Korea in October, namely once-weekly Tianjin-Jeju-Harbin, thrice-weekly Shanghai-Jeju-Ningbo, 4x-weekly Taizhou-Jeju-Shanghai, twice-weekly Ningbo-Jejo-Harbin, daily Ningbo-Jeju-Taizhou services.
All those routes will be operated by A320 aircraft.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the applications until 5:00 p.m. on September 22, 2016.
