More than 300 families gathered at Frederick Municipal Airport (KFDK) in Maryland Nov. 19 to welcome Santa Claus at the second annual Paws and Planes: Holiday at the Airport.
After Santa arrived at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association National Aviation Community Center by plane, kids lined up to meet him and Mrs. Claus, enjoyed aviation and rescue activities, and met children’s book stars, Turbo the Flying Dog and his best friend, Olive.
“We’re proud to sponsor this event,” said Lin Caywood from the Sugarloaf Chapter of the Ninety-Nines. “It’s an amazing way to get kids interested in aviation.”
Jon Harden from Aviation Insurance Resources, who sponsored Santa and Mrs. Claus’s visit, agreed. “It’s great to see the next generation enjoying the airport and learning about flight.”
