Last year, Airbus disclosed that they hope to create a “self-flying taxi.” They have worked towards this goal and hope to test flight their first prototype of a single-person craft by the end of 2017.

These independent taxis will be called CityAirbus, and will be accessible through an app on any smartphone, similar to Uber. Until national regulations allow for autonomous flying, the taxis will be flown by a pilot, reports Mail Online.
