Uber has already demonstrated the interior of the flight taxi it plans. The company launched a reference design at the 3rd Annual Elevate Conference, which ultimately powered the service of "Uber Air," which focused on flying taxi-related technologies. Many of the Uber Air Taxi services are designed to resemble more advanced helicopters, and their reference design looks a lot like a helicopter inside, and a bit like the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft inside.
Uber said that the flight taxi is used for short trips in a short period of time. There are four passenger seats in the front and rear rows. The second row is behind the space for storing luggage. The interior of the fuselage uses blue lighting and seat belts. Designed in collaboration with a company called Safran Cabin, Uber hopes that the simple and fluid interior design will be the standard for the Evtol (electrical vertical takeoff and landing) flight experience. Therefore, Uber stated that it was modified with Safran Cabin's design to meet Evtol aircraft specifications. Flying taxis are just one of the many things that Uber has done in seeking to become the ultimate transportation company.
Uber hopes to have a trial fly in 2020 and plans to launch a flight taxi service in Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California in 2023. The company also recently announced that it will provide helicopter transfers from Lower Manhattan to JFK International Airport in New York.
