The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced Shanghai Pudong International Airport remains banned from adding frequencies, charter services and making new route applications, after failing to meet the Chinese regulator's performance standards for four consecutive months.
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport have been also blacked from adding new flights from July 25, due to poor on-time performance in June 2016.
In a statement, the CAAC added that Grand Air China and the airports at Fuzhou and Nanjing continue to remain under a similar ban.
Starting August 1, however, Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport will release from the ban and be able to resume applications for new services as its on-time performance improved.
The airlines and airports must meet performance targets for two consecutive months before further applications will be accepted.
