The Civil Aviation Data Analysis (CADAS) has published the Global Airline Alliance On-time Arrival Performance Report for July 2016.
The report analyzes the on-time performance of the airline alliances globally in July 2016 based on VariFlight's vast and timely flight status data.
Comparison of Three Global Airline Alliances
In July, oneworld, Star Alliance and SkyTeam had slight differences in their on-time arrival performance and average arrival delay time. oneworld members delivered 88.04% of their flights on time, more punctual than their counterparts in Star Alliance and SkyTeam. Besides, oneworld had the shortest average arrival delay time among the three global airline alliances, with 13.14 minutes.

The top 5 on-time oneworld airlines were Japan Airlines, Iberia, Qatar Airways, Finnair and TAM Airlines. Japan took the top spot with an on-time arrival performance of 97.68% (also topped among global airlines). Its flights were delayed by 3.76 minutes on average.


Star Alliance
All Nippon Airways, Copa Airlines, Singapore Airlines, THAI, and Lufthansa were among the top 5 on-time airlines in Star Alliance. ANA delivered 97.03% of its flights on time and was the most punctual Star Alliance member (the 3rd of all airlines), with an average delay time of 4.57 minutes.

SkyTeam
The top 5 on-time SkyTeam airlines were KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Middle East Airlines, TAROM, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Aerolíneas Argentinas. KLM had a better on-time performance than other SkyTeam members with 95.94% of its flights arriving on time (the 9th of all airlines). The flights operated by the Lebanese carrier were delayed by 6.07 minutes.

On-time arrival performance: the total number of on-time flights divided by the total number of actual arrival flights.
Average arrival delay time: the total delay time divided by the total number of actual arrival flights.
(Delay time for a single flight: difference of the actual arrival time minus the scheduled arrival time. If a flight arrives prior to the scheduled time, the delay time is 0.)
