CSeries
Prepared for new technologies
With Lufthansa Group airline Swiss being the launch customer for the new Bombardier CSeries, Lufthansa Technik engineers were heavily involved in the technical details of the new CSeries aircraft years before the maiden flight, developing a picture of the structure, systems and components and their maintenance early on.

Numerous new technologies
The CSeries employs numerous new technologies that also pose challenges to maintenance. The fuselage of a new aluminum alloy is stronger and the wings and control surfaces are largely manufactured from monolithic carbon composite materials. For the first time on a commercial aircraft an electro-mechanical brake is installed, and a new geared fan engine plays a key role in achieving lower operating costs.
Maintenance "think-tank"
When drawing up the initial maintenance program for the CSeries, aircraft manufacturer Bombardier relied on the expertise of Lufthansa Technik's Aircraft Engineering. With its "maintenance think-tank", Lufthansa Technik is ideally placed to make a valuable contribution to the future maintenance of the new aircraft type. Airlines will benefit from a maintenance system that has been devised from the perspective of the operator.
Life cycle support for regionals
The product portfolio of Lufthansa Technik for the needs of customers operating aircraft in the 50-130 seater market comprises services for the whole aircraft life cycle. As well as its existing and proven capacity for the other Bombardier aircraft and the Embraer regional jets, Lufthansa Technik is extremely well placed to support the new member of the regional aircraft family.
