Tips:TTFnews:The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has banned drones in 81 public parks and gardens, officials said Tuesday. Drones have been included in an ordinance that bans the use of remote-controlled aircraft in parks and gardens.

The new measure comes after a drone was found on the roof of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's official residence last month. In issuing the ordinance, the metropolitan government said that drones constitute a danger to people in parks and garden.

Violation of the ordinance may result in a fine of up to 50,000 yen; however, officials said violators will not be arrested.

Signs have been posted at the 81 public parks and gardens and if staff see anyone operating a drone, they will initially ask them to stop.

Meanwhile, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party said Tuesday that it is drafting legislation to ban the flying of drones near the imperial palace, the Diet, the prime minister's office, Supreme Court, foreign embassies and other facilities, NHK reported.

According to a draft of the bill, air space within 300 meters of such buildings would be considered a no-fly zone. Offenders will be subject to prison terms of up to one year or a maximum fine of 500,000 yen.
