Houston's Life Flight, the busiest air ambulance service in the country, will be the star of a new unscripted television show on the Lifetime cable network.
The six-episode docudrama series -- "Life Flight: Trauma Center Houston" -- will premiere March 2 and highlight the work of the Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Trauma Institute.
"We hope people will have a better appreciation of how prevalent trauma is, and how preventable," said Craig Cordola, CEO of Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
Trauma is the leading cause of injury and death in Americans under 44.
"If one person or 10 people put their seatbelts on or don't text and drive, it will be worth it," said trauma institute director Dr. John Holcomb, who appears in the series.
