Allegro (Jiangsu) Aircraft Co., Ltd. will invest 5 billion yuan to build an aircraft manufacturing plant in Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone, which is capable of producing 200 planes a year, local media reported.
Containers of two light airplanes imported from America were opened for checks in Zhangjiagang Bonded Area on the afternoon of March 2, marking the first aircraft imported through Zhang Jiagang port, even the whole Jiangsu Province. What's more surprising; this type of aircraft can not only be bought near home, but also be made in the city.
With a white body mixed with red and yellow strands, the new imported airplane Allegro looks vibrant and light. After related procedures, the aircraft will be displayed as proto. Made by LSA America, Inc, the two-seat light aircraft is 6.126 meter-long and 2.103 meter-high with a net weight of 289 kg. With a maximum take-off weight of 600 kg, the aircraft has a maximum speed of 270 km per hour, which is mainly applied in pilot training, highway patrol, aerial photograph, coastal patrol and so on.
The company has received orders for 20 planes and the first aircraft will be rolled off its new plant at the end of this year, said Jiang Jianqing, president of Allegro (Jiangsu) Aircraft.
According to the latest date of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), by 2020, the total number of commercial and private aircraft in China will amount at 200,000; while there had been only 1,500.
