TNA Aviation Technologies, a St. Augustine, Florida builder of aircraft tugs and towing devices, has released its latest product, the TowFlexx 120e HG. Designed for aircraft up to a midsize
business jet (28,000 pounds of capacity) the electric towbarless tug enables a single person to easily move the aircraft. Its 24-volt, 1.8-kW (2.45-hp) motor is driven by a rechargeable lead-acid battery pack that can also be used as a ground power supply. It can typically operate two to three days on a single charge, according to TNA.
The tug has a belt winch for drawing the nose wheel o
nto its cradle, which can accommodate single- or dual-wheel nose gears up to a maximum of 23.7 inches wide. It can also be used on helicopters and tailwheel aircraft. Designed to be weather resistant, the tug is available with optio
nal jump leads, additio
nal lights (a single LED is standard) and the ground power cable.
“The TowFlexx 120e HG offers usability combined with ruggedness, and I’m co
nfident our customers will see and appreciate the level of innovation in this competitively priced product,” said TNA co-owner Uli Nielen.
