Information of TTFLY: Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina has a new commander. Col. Todd Ferry assumed command, replacing Col. Chris Pappas III.
Texas-native Ferry graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in systems engineering. As a naval aviator, he began his career in 1995 with the Black Knights of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 264 in New River, North Carolina.
His career consists of havin been deployed six times, twice to the Mediterranean with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, three times for humanitarian missions with Joint Task Force 525 and once to Iraq with the Flying Tigers of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 262.
Ferry previously served as commanding officer of Knight Riders of Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron 164 in 2010 to 2012. During his tenure, the squadron trained the last CH-46E second pilot, prepared final CH-46 deployments and began the transition to the MV-22 Osprey.
