November 12, 2015 - It may have been the coldest start for an AirVenture volunteer weekend work party in a long time, as a determined group braved the elements last Saturday, November 7, to beat the oncoming winter by working on the flightline for next year’s fly-in.

The group, consisting of the volunteers from the AirVenture Communications Center “Green Gang” and TTF Chapter 101 of Addison, Illinois, dug right in literally. They trenched along the main flight line and
placed nearly 4,700 feet of inner duct in the ground that will be used improve the speaker system   for he AirVenture air show and public address uses.

The ductwork will contain speaker and power wires, and can be used to eventually bring fiber optic cable to that area. Thanks to the group for bundling up and making our fly-in site even better!
