Now, it's time for the gentlemen to enjoy some privilege. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, one of the busiest airports in China, has introduced special security lanes for male passengers, in an effort to improve its services and become more passenger-friendly.

In September, Guangzhou airport has added pink-colored female-only security lines to help those uncomfortable with the security of male guards.

The women-only aisles are managed by female security guards and allow children of either gender to join their mothers.

According to the airport's regulations, female passengers should only be checked by female security inspectors. Under the original arrangement at the airport, when one channel is equipped with a male inspector and a female inspector, each female inspector has to deal with more passengers than her male colleagues.

Guangzhou airport solved queuing problems by adding four male-only lanes at Gate No. 4, 8 in A area and Gate No. 12, 13 in B area.

The designated male-only lanes not only speed up security checks but also show respects to foreign tourists and ethnic groups, the airport said.

State media have claimed that "now is time for gentlemen to enjoy some privilege".

Several airports in China, including in Shanghai, Chengdu and Tianjin, are said to also offer male-only security lanes, to help cut the security queues for men.

Currently, Guangzhou airport has already introduced female-only lanes, late-comer lanes, first-class cabin lanes and luggage-free lanes, catering to the various demands of different passengers.
