San Bernardino County, California, Sheriff’s Dept. has added an Airbus Helicopters H125 to its fleet, and Donaldson Aerospace & Defense received a Transport Canada certification for its inlet barrier filters. Both parties are exhibiting at Airborne Law Enforcement Assn.’s (ALEA) Expo in Reno, Nevada.
San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dept.’s new aircraft is part of a long-term plan to updat its fleet of six AS350 B3s, Airbus said. The department is set to use the helicopters for patrol, high-altitude rescues and fire suppression. Airbus said that San Bernardino County is the largest county in the U.S., with more than 20,100 square miles. The fire department flies 22,000 hours each year.
Airbus is exhibiting one of the sheriff’s department’s H125s at the expo. Airbus Helicopters is at booth 574.
Donaldson Aerospace & Defense’s inlet barrier filters were Transport Canada-certificated for installation on Airbus AS350 B3, EC130 B4s and EC130 T2s. The company now offers 16 filtration systems that have been certificated by the Canadian authority. They cover Airbus, Leonardo/AgustaWestland, Bell Helicopter, MD Helicopters and Sikorsky models. The filters keep contamination from degrading the performance and reliability of engines.
Donaldson is exhibiting a range of oiled and dry media IBFs at booth 376.
