Information of TTFly: The average on-time departure rate of major airports in mainland China reached 73.86% in June 2016, up 14.26 percentage points year on year, according to data released by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Among the 51 airports, 31 achieved better on-time departure performance than the average level, including Kunming Changshui International Airport (89.13%), Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (88.75%), Urumqi Diwopu International Airport (88.13%), Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (86.09%), etc.
The 51 airports are divided into two categories according to passenger numbers served in 2014 - full-year passenger volume more than 1% of total airports and that less than 1%.
According to statistics, Kunming replaced Xi'an to be the most punctual airport among the 27 largest airports with an on-time departure rate of 89.13%, followed by Xi'an and Urumqi.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport were ranked at the bottom of the list of airports with more passenger volumes, with only 54.31% and 59.23% percent on-time departures in June 2016.
Data shows that Haikou Meilan International Airport saw the largest improvement in its on-time performance among the 24 airports in 10 million passenger club, increasing 30.13 percentage points to 79.48% compared with the same period last year.
Xishuangbanna Airport had the best on-time performance among airports with passenger numbers less than 1% of total airports, with 91.56% of flights departing on time in June.
