Air France-KLM has signed an agreement with connectivity provider Gogo, covering Wi-Fi installation across 124 long-haul aircraft.
Announcing the deal Sep. 29, Air France-KLM said Gogo will equip 83 Air France aircraft (15 Airbus A330s and 68 Boeing 777s) and 41 from KLM's long-haul fleet (12 A330s and 29 777s).
The installations, which come alongside Air France-KLM's Wi-Fi-equipped 787s, will start at the end of 2017.
Air France-KLM said the aircraft will be equipped with Wi-Fi as well as a free portal that will be accessible via passenger devices, giving access to flight information, travel details and inflight entertainment.
"The 2Ku product from Gogo offers a future-proof platform based on the latest antenna technology, bringing flexibility to adapt to growing demands from our customers," Air France-KLM said.
KLM is already operating eight Wi-Fi-equipped 787s and Air France will receive its first 787 on Jan. 9 next year.
"The group's Boeing 787s, which offer Wi-Fi on board, are equipped by Panasonic Avionics, and offer the same portal and products as planned on the rest of the long-haul fleet," Air France-KLM said.
SkyTeam member Air France-KLM operates a fleet of 534 aircraft across its four brands -- Air France, KLM, Transavia and HOP! -- panning a network of 320 destinations.
In 2015, the Group handled 89.8 million passengers.
